A Cobb County couple died early Saturday after leaving the roadway and striking three trees not far from their home, according to police.

A white, 2012 Ford F-150 was traveling westbound on Paper Mill Road, near Sibley Forest Drive, at a speed greater than the posted 35 mph limit when it left the roadway while negotiating a curve, according to Officer Michael Bowman with Cobb County police.

After striking a large tree, the truck began a clockwise rotation, causing it collide with another tree and overturn, hitting another tree and landing on the roof, Bowman said.

Both the driver and passenger were killed in the wreck, which happened around 12:35 a.m. The driver was identified as Ryan Lamar Lombardo, 40, and the passenger was Jessica Lombardo, 35, both of Marietta, according to police.

Address records show the couple was about two miles from their east Cobb home at the time of the crash. The Lombardos were the parents of three children, according to Ryan Lombardo’s Facebook profile.

Ryan Lombardo owned a Marietta-based company that specializes in environmental disaster recovery, according to the Georgia Secretary of State’s online records. The business began out of a family-run tree service in Texas, according to the LMGC Disaster Services website.
