He’s accused of robbing 13 banks in Colorado while holding magazines. Now, federal investigators believe the serial bank robber has moved to the Atlanta area and are asking for the public’s help in locating him.
From Aug. 1 until Dec. 10, 2012, 13 banks in the Denver area were hit, and various law enforcement agencies in the area, along with the FBI, believe the same suspect is responsible, Mark F. Giuliano, special agent in charge in Atlanta, said in a press release Monday.
The man has been dubbed the “Clearinghouse Bandit” because he’s often seen holding magazines during the robberies, Giuliano said. Publishers Clearing House is an American direct-marketing company that offers discounted magazine subscriptions.
The suspect is believed to be 25 to 40 years of age, between 6 feet and 6 feet, 5 inches tall, and 220 to 260 pounds, the FBI said.
Anyone with information on the alleged bank robber is asked to call the FBI Atlanta Field Office at 404-679-9000.
