Federal authorities have arrested one of the six inmates who escaped over the weekend from a south Georgia jail.

Cecil “Red” Dewitt Nelson, 33, was captured Monday night without incident, FBI Atlanta Special Agent in Charge Mark F. Giuliano said Tuesday morning in a statement.

Authorities are still looking for two of the six inmates who escaped Saturday night from the Emanuel County jail in Swainsboro near Savannah, according to reports.

Three were arrested Sunday evening.

A $5,000 reward had been offered for the capture of Nelson, who pleaded guilty in August to conspiracy to kidnap.

According to the FBI, Nelson worked with Antonio Lamont Murray and Gary McDonald on two separate kidnappings in Bryan County in December 2011 and in January 2012.

Both victims were forcibly abducted at gunpoint and released after ransoms of $19,000 and $250,000 were demanded and paid, according to reports.

Nelson was arrested Monday night at his mother’s home in Pembroke.
