Bank error makes man a trillionaire, for a day

TYLER, Texas —

What would you do with four trillion dollars? An East Texas man found himself facing that unique question this week after a very, very large bank error.

According to KLTV, Reggie Theus was checking his account online when he noticed his account was a bit higher than normal, "I obviously wish it would have been real but it was great to see. I logged out and logged back in eight times just to see if it was still there, and every time it was still there."

See more irresistible stories.

The incredible mistake made Theus the world's first trillionaire, at least temporarily.

Reggie told local reporters that he would use three trillion to pay down the national debt. That sacrifice would have left Theus with only one trillion dollars to live off of.

Theus' bank has admitted to, and fixed, the glitch and its representatives have asked that he not reveal its identity.
