Under-age alcohol sales are about to land 22 people in court in Forsyth County, authorities said Wednesday

The Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, working with school resource officers, went to 100 businesses on Saturday to ensure that they were following state and county laws that prohibits the sale of alcohol to anyone under 21.

But among the 100, they found 22 that weren’t complying, Deputy Sheriff Doug Rainwater said.

As a result, 22 people will appear in Forsyth County Magistrate Court to answer the charge that they violated the county’s alcohol ordinance, Rainwater said. The licensee for each business also could face an administrative hearing before the Forsyth County Commission on the status of the business’ alcohol license, he said.

The names of the businesses were not released.
