Seven DeKalb County families were left homeless Friday after a fire in Clarkston destroyed several apartment units.

The fire was at the Brannon Hill Apartments on Brannon Hill Road just off Memorial College Drive.

Fire officials told Channel 2 Action News no resident was injured, but a firefighter received medical attention after complaining of dizziness.

The Red Cross said it helped 36 people, 18 adults and 18 children, with lodging and food.
