Roadside bomb kills 3 in Iraq

BAGHDAD — A police spokesman says a roadside bomb in northern Iraq has killed three people and wounded a fourth.

Police Brig. Gen. Sarhat Qadir says the four were traveling south of the city of Kirkuk on Monday when their car hit a roadside bomb. No further details were immediately available.
Qadir says police are investigating.
Kirkuk is located 180 miles (290 kilometers) north of Baghdad.
The city sits on top of one of Iraq's largest oil reserves and has long been a point of friction among Arabs, Kurds and Turkomen who are vying for control of the land.
