Authorities say a north Georgia toddler has drowned after wandering into a small pond near the family's home near Chatsworth.

Murray County Chief Deputy Ray Sitton said investigators believe the Tuesday afternoon drowning was accidental.

The Chattanooga Times Free Press reports that a dive team found 22-month-old Aiden Hammontree in about 5 to 6 feet of water in the pond.

Authorities say he had been playing in a driveway and wandered away.
