The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Warmer weather and the return of commuters are expected to bring smog back to Atlanta Tuesday.

The Georgia Environmental Protection Division is forecasting another "code orange" day.

That means concentrations of ground-level ozone are expected to make air in metro Atlanta "unhealthy for sensitive groups." Children and people with heart or lung disease should avoid outdoor exercise during the late afternoon or early evening, according to the Clean Air Campaign, an anti-pollution group.

A code orange smog day is a low-level violation of federal clean air standards. So far this year, Atlanta has exceeded the federal standards 16 times, according to the Georgia Environmental Protection Division.
