MARTA customers in and around the Lindbergh area Saturday evening do not be alarmed by the cops and flashing lights.

For seven hours, MARTA will be conducting a “full scale police exercise” in an effort to be better prepared in emergency incidents. The drills will begin about 8 p.m. and last until 3 a.m.

The annual exercise is in coordination with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Atlanta Police Department, Atlanta Fire Department and Decatur Fire Department, according to MARTA officials in a statement.

“These annual training exercises provide the opportunity for MARTA police, staff and emergency responders to practice response and recovery operations during a simulated emergency situation,” said officials in the statement.

MARTA has staged the drills since 2002.

Buses will be rerouted in the area and roads will be closed during the drills. For details on how you may be affected check itsmarta.com or call 404-848-5000.
