A woman covers her face at a MARTA bus station as a wintry mix of sleet and snow falls in East Atlanta Village.

A man walking in the dark Friday evening in the 1300 block of Northwest Drive touched a downed power line and was electrocuted, police said.

The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office identified him as Tevin Gullatt, 18, of Atlanta.

Atlanta police Sgt. John Chafee said callers reported they had tried to warn Gullatt that a live power line was hanging, but he kept walking.

A neighbor told Channel 2 Action news Gullatt may have been walking home, as snow fell, after taking MARTA.

Gullatt was dead by the time police arrived, Chafee said.

“At this time it is unclear what caused the line to come down,” Chafee said.
