Major fire damages Conyers auto dealership
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
A fire damaged the service area at John Miles Chevrolet in Conyers on Monday.
There were no injuries.
The Rockdale County Fire Department responded to a 10:20 a.m. 911 call about the blaze, which started in the aluminum service structure, said Rockdale County Deputy Fire Chief Mike Lee.
The fire, which had flames and smoke reaching 10-12 feet, did major damage to the roof of the service area, but was contained to that structure.
By 11:45 a.m., the fire was pretty much out, said Angie Cunningham, who works at Granite Mountain Harley Davidson, a few businesses down from John Miles Chevrolet.
“It looks like the whole service department is gone,” Cunningham said.
