Shots fired during robbery at north Fulton Walgreens, police say

Shots were fired after a Walgreens in Sandy Springs was robbed at gunpoint Tuesday. Police are searching for three suspects.

Police in Sandy Springs are searching for three suspects who robbed a Walgreens at gunpoint on Tuesday night.

As the suspects fled the scene, there were shots fired in the parking lot toward a car, police said. No one was injured.

Police said that the suspects entered the Walgreens at 7530 Roswell Road around 8 p.m. Tuesday night and two of the suspects were armed with handguns.

Police did not have descriptions for the suspects and did not say how much money was taken.

According to a police report, the suspects were wearing gloves and had their faces covered.

Five officers responded to the scene and spoke with nine different witnesses, according to the report.

One of the shots fired was from a 9-millimeter handgun and punctured the tire of a black 2012 Volvo parked in the lot, according to the report. Police found a shell casing at the scene and pulled a bullet fragment from the tire.
