Despite considerable public debate, the Peachtree Corners City Council voted 4-3, with councilmembers Phil Sadd, Alex Wright and Jeanne Aulbach voting against, to approve zoning changes requested by Roberts Properties Inc. that will make way for a new mixed-use development at 4936 Peachtree Corners Circle and 5246 Peachtree Parkway.

The proposed project to be located on property behind Chase Bank and Black Walnut Café will consist of 169 luxury apartments, a 110-room boutique hotel and a 9,000-square-foot retail building.

The approval came with 96 specific conditions including one driveway connecting to Peachtree Parkway and access from Peachtree Corners Circle. Parking for the hotel and apartments will be constructed above two levels of covered parking deck that contain at least four electric vehicle charging stations. Excluding the entry to the parking garage, the western façade of the upper level of parking will be screened by finished spaces such as lobbies, leasing offices, a business center and other common areas and amenities.

The apartments will offer one- and two-bedroom units with luxury features including granite or similar countertops, nine-foot ceilings, full-size washer and dryer, pre-wired security systems, complimentary Wi-Fi and TV along with access to a resort-style swimming pool and clubhouse with cyber café and fitness center.
