Four eastbound lanes of I-285 will be closed overnight this weekend in the top end Perimeter area of North Fulton and DeKalb counties, part of the continuing reconstruction of the I-285/Ga. 400 interchange.

Weather permitting, the lane closures will take place from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7 through Sunday, Sept. 9, from the Glenridge Connector to Chamblee Dunwoody Road, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation. One eastbound lane will remain open.

The lane closures will assist in the implementation of an eastbound I-285 traffic shift, reducing lane widths from 12 to 11 feet to create room in the median for the construction of multiple bridges, GDOT said.

The ramp from northbound Ga. 400 to eastbound I-285 will be closed during the same overnight hours Friday through Sunday. The recommended detour is to continue north on Ga. 400, exit at Abernathy Road to Sandy Springs, and take the entrance ramp to southbound Ga. 400 back to the I-285 interchange.
