A Stockbridge house has been deemed a public nuisance and will be torn down.

The Henry County Board of Commissioners voted at its Jan. 8 regular meeting to issue an official public nuisance declaration for an abandoned and dilapidated structure at 180 Highland Circle in Stockbridge.

Records indicate the property owner died in 2010 and there has been no change in ownership, with property taxes being delinquent since 2010. Several tenants lived at the residence through 2016, during which time the property fell into further disrepair while Code Enforcement personnel investigated several complaints and issued citations.

Nuisance abatement proceedings approved by the board include demolition of the structure and removal of all debris and trash.
