Hapeville rail facilities project on track

The long awaited Hapeville Rail Facilities Improvement Project has begun construction, according to city officials. Storm drain installation work began June 18 at the Pedestrian Overpass bridge area. There will be some temporary closure of parking spaces that are next to the railroad tracks on North Central Avenue. However, parking spaces in front of businesses on North Central will remain open.

A six-month schedule was recently released:

Storm Drain – North Central and North Fulton: June 12 through June 25

Retaining Walls, Curb and Gutter: June 25 through July 30

Storm Drain – North Central at Perkins Street: Aug. 13 through Aug. 24

Curb and Sidewalk, Fencing: Aug. 24 through Sept. 28

Storm Drain – South Central at Elm Street: Sept. 28 through Nov. 7

The city will provide periodic updates and schedule changes.
