Gwinnett family charms Steve Harvey, internet with ‘Feud’ appearance

When the Obu family appeared on “Family Feud” in October, they charmed Steve Harvey. But after the show posted a clip of their appearance to YouTube last week, the five singing, dancing siblings from Gwinnett County have charmed the internet too.

Most of the clip focuses on Steve Harvey trying to grasp the reality that one of the older Obu siblings has the same first, middle and last name: Obu Obu Obu.

“Your name is Obu?” Harvey asked, glancing first at the family name on the screen in front of him, then at Obu Obu Obu’s nametag

“Yes, sir,” Obu Obu Obu said.

“And your last name is Obu?” Harvey asked.

“Yes, sir,” Obu Obu Obu said.

“You should ask him what his middle name is,” sister Ibum Obu said.

“Oh, God, Steve’s not ready for that. Steve’s not ready for that,” Obu Obu Obu said, shaking his head.

“You don’t know how ready I am. We’re not doing a damn thing until I find out,” Harvey said.

Harvey inspected Obu Obu Obu’s driver’s license, then asked who gave him such a unique name. It was the Obu children’s father, of course. Harvey found him in the studio audience and asked him what his name was.

The father stood up, threw his arms out wide and shouted.

“OBU!”
