Chastain Park seeks First Saturday clean-up help

Do you like being outside? Do you appreciate nature and the environment? Organizers at Atlanta’s largest city park need help to keep Chastain clean, safe and green. General park beautification duties will depend on the varying seasonal needs of the park and include planting native grasses, removing invasive plants, raking, trash and graffiti removal. Participants should dress comfortably for working outside.

The Chastain Park Conservancy is a volunteer, not-for-profit organization dedicated to the stewardship and renewal of Chastain Park’s natural and developed resources. The Conservancy is a grass roots organization whose Board of Directors and active volunteers are committed to reaching the park’s full potential as a world-class source of recreation,

When: 9 a.m. on the first Saturday of every month

Make a difference building homes with Habitat

Habitat for Humanity of Hall County has building opportunities on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays during the month of July. No experience is needed. Volunteers are urged to come do framing, siding, painting, trim-out and much more. Lunch and water are provided.

Clerical support needed at Society of St. Vincent de Paul

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Georgia empowers people, regardless of their background, ethnicity, or faith, to achieve self-sufficiency by offering financial,material, educational, and spiritual support and by collaborating with others to develop and deliver programs and services that help those in need.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Georgia operates 12 Thrift Stores throughout the state. Each store offers a wide variety of merchandise including clothing, accessories, furniture, and home goods. The revenue generated from the Thrift Stores stays in the local community and goes directly to the programs and services that help families and individuals in need.

Volunteers in the Conference Support Center assist with clerical work. Duties include:

  • Data Entry
  • Filing
  • Organizing
