Like parents of most newborns, Julie and Justin Davidson of Banks County want to hold their babies.

However, it’s not that easy because they are the parents of quadruplets, delivered Saturday by cesarean section, the Gainesville Times reported.

The girls are in the neonatal intensive care unit at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, the newspaper reported. Therefore, the parents can have contact with them for an hour a day, as long as the babies are doing well.

“It’s like my heart is in a box,” Julie Davidson said. “It’s in four different boxes.”

The babies weigh between 2 pounds, 6 ounces and 3 pounds, 2 ounces, and range in length from 14 to 16 inches, according to the newspaper.

They are “breathing on their own,” their father said.

The babies may be able to go home on their original due date in late March, the newspaper reported.

That will make five children in the Davidson household, as Justin Davidson has a 4-year-old son, according to the report.

“We’re definitely going to have to build on [to the house] down the road,” he said.
