Certain eastbound and westbound lanes of I-285 in Sandy Springs will be closed nightly the next few days for what the state describes as “geotechnical investigations,” part of the Transform 285/400 project.
Alternating left and right lanes of I-285 westbound will be closed between Peachtree-Dunwoody Road and Glenridge Drive from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sunday through Thursday, the Georgia Department of Transportation said.
Separately, one right lane will be closed on I-285 eastbound between Glenridge and Peachtree-Dunwoody from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Thursday, GDOT said. The work is a prelude to the four-year, $800 million reconstruction of the I-285/Ga. 400 interchange in Sandy Springs and Dunwoody.
Exact dates of the lane closures could change because of the weather. Motorists are cautioned to reduce their speed while travel through work zones, pay attention and watch for workers.
