State highway officials have announced that for the foreseeable future, Glenridge Drive will have two fewer lanes where it passes beneath I-285 in the top-end Perimeter area of North Fulton and DeKalb counties.

Through late 2020, Glenridge under I-285 will have two northbound through lanes, one northbound lane for both through traffic and left turns to westbound I-285, and one southbound lane, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

Before, Glenridge under the overpass had three northbound through lanes and one northbound left-turn lane, and two southbound lanes. GDOT also advises motorists to expect occasional weekend lane closures, from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. The change is part of the ongoing I-285/Ga. 400 interchange reconstruction project.

“The lane modification will help facilitate utility relocation work … (and) will remain in place during utility relocation and bridge construction,” GDOT said. “Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout construction activities.”
