Operation CleanStop is in full effect in the City of East Point. More than 60 trash cans have been installed at various Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority bus stops in the city. Since its approval in October 2016, this clean city initiative encourages citizens to help keep their communities free of litter and trash near MARTA bus stops.

Residents, businesses, and associations contributed funds towards the purchase of trash cans at the bus stop of their choice. Every bus stop that was given a $200 donation received a trash can that is regularly maintained by the city.

East Point established an agreement with the nonprofit organization MARTA Army INC. Its crowdfunding campaign resulted in $16,000 for new trash cans at more than 60 MARTA bus stops in East Point. They were also responsible for the promotion of this initiative through their social media outlets, activities and community meetings.

East Point is responsible for purchasing, installing and maintaining the trash cans on a weekly basis. As of September 2017, there are 34 fully funded and 28 partially funded trash can locations around the city. The Solid Waste Division is responsible for its trash collection Monday through Friday.
