East Point’s paving program could be complete by July.

The city of East Point has begun an extensive road resurfacing project. Although no street closures are expected during pavement operations minimal delays may be experienced for the next five months, weather permitting. The work being done is a federally funded project administered through the Georgia Department of Transportation Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant.

Repaving will occur from 9 a.m. through 9 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays for the following roads: Sylvan Road from the East Point city limits to Oakleigh Drive; Cleveland Avenue and Irene Kidd Parkway from the East Point city limits to Washington Road; Norman Berry Drive from Cleveland Avenue to Willingham Drive and Virginia Avenue between the East Point city limits toward College Park and Hapeville.

Further paving is planned from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays for Cherry Blossom Lane, Kingston Terrace, Fern Valley Drive, Fern Valley Court, Black Fox Trail and Tanglewood Trail.
