Mayor Kasim Reed donates $100,000 on behalf of the City of Atlanta to MAP International for Hurricane Maria relief efforts. CONTRIBUTED

With a check presenation Thursday, Nov. 16, Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed presented a donation of $100,000 to MAP International for Hurricane Maria relief efforts in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Mayor Reed presented the funds to Steve Stirling, president and CEO of MAP International. An estimated 132,000 people in Puerto Rico and 63,000 people in the U.S. Virgin Islands will have access to critically needed medical supplies at no charge with the donation. This donation will supply Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands with access to medications, antibiotics and hygiene items.

MAP International, a Georgia-based charity, is dedicated to saving lives and restoring heath for those affected by the devastation of hurricane Maria.
