Chinese restaurant in Atlanta passes health re-inspection with a low B

Georgia has rules it requires every food service operation to follow.

UPDATE: China Dragon passed a Tuesday afternoon re-inspection with an 82/B. Violations noted in the report include an "excessive amount of grease on the sides of the cooking equipment" and the facility being "in need of a thorough deep cleaning."

ORIGINAL (Nov. 30): A Chinese restaurant on Ponce de Leon Avenue failed a recent health inspection, Fulton County records show.

China Dragon scored a 49/U following the Tuesday evaluation. Scores below 70 are considered failing.

According to the report, an inspector observed the facility “in need of a thorough deep cleaning” with “an accumulation of dust, grease and old food debris on the floors, walls and ceilings.”

Officials also reported observing the “failure of the person in charge to demonstrate knowledge of food safety management and provide active managerial control.”

A man who answered the phone Friday said a manager was not available.

The location’s prior score, from April, was an 89/B.
