The city of Chamblee has approved funds for a new park.

The city of Chamblee Mayor and City Council have approved the acquisition of approximately 10 acres of green space located at 4197 North Shallowford Road. The site is located along Nancy Creek, between North Shallowford Road and North Peachtree Road south of Savoy Drive. The acquisition allows for the continued planning of park and trail connectivity, a goal of Chamblee’s Mayor and Council.

“The site’s proximity to Nancy Creek prevents any viable commercial or residential use, but its development as a park or trail amenity could positively affect the redevelopment of Savoy Drive and increase neighborhood connectivity,” said Mayor Eric Clarkson.
