Austell attracts 6 candidates for 3 posts

All three posts on the Austell City Council will be contested on Nov. 7 in the general election.

For at-large Post 1, candidates are incumbent Ollie B. Clemons Jr. and Melanie Maria Elder. Ward 1 candidates are Ikaika Anderson and Marlin Lamar. Ward 1 Councilwoman Kirsten Anderson isn’t seeking reelection. For Ward 2, candidates are Trudie Causey and incumbent Randy Green.

Qualifying ended Aug. 25.

Those elected will serve four-year terms from Jan. 1, 2018 to Jan. 1, 2022.
