Weekend to see below-freezing temps

A cool trend that started Friday when temperatures dropped below freezing will continue through early next week, Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said.

Saturday will be mostly sunny, and Sunday partly cloudy. All the while, temperatures will dip to the low 30s and barely get warmer than 50 degrees, Minton said.

The lows are expected to be 30 degrees Saturday and 32 degrees Sunday and the highs should reach 50 degrees Saturday and 54 degrees Sunday.

Forecasts showed a 40 percent change for a wintry mix on Monday and a 30 percent chance for a wintry mix on Tuesday.

Atlanta will likely see some “light melting snow” that won’t accumulate, according to Channel 2.
