With less than two weeks to go before a Nov. 8 referendum on imposing a new sales tax to pay for road work, Alpharetta has scheduled a Town Hall discussion for 8 a.m. Saturday morning at City Hall to educate residents about the projects to be funded.

If voters approve Transportation Special Purpose Local Optional Sales Tax of 0.75 percent, the city could see $62.7 million over the tax’s five-year span for local highway improvements.

About $32.6 million would go toward congestion relief and roadway projects, followed by $25.5 million for operational improvements. Other funds would go toward safety, pedestrian, bike, landscaping and other projects.

The TSPLOST referendum will be held in unincorporated Fulton County and the 13 Fulton cities other than Atlanta. Information: http://bit.ly/2dtIx04
