- Fiza Pirani The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Every November, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution prints its biggest newspaper of the year — a special Thanksgiving edition filled with countless Black Friday sale inserts to help you plan and save this holiday season.
“This is like our Super Bowl Sunday,” Allison Altobelli, director of advertising sales at The AJC, said of the annual newspaper tradition.
The AJC’s printing plant in Gwinnett has processed more than 18 million sales fliers and circulars.
According to Altobelli, the average paper in metro Atlanta this year will weigh roughly five pounds and will feature up to 40 Black Friday sale inserts from a variety of retailers.
If you’re already a home delivery subscriber, you’ll receive the Thanksgiving Day paper Thursday. But if you’re not, you can pick up a copy of the special edition for $3 at multiple metro retail stores, including participating Kroger, RaceTrac, QuikTrip, Wal-Mart locations and at other convenience stores in the area.
If you plan on getting the shopping started Thanksgiving Day, there will also be a special early edition available at those participating retailers, including participating Publix locations, on Wednesday at noon.View full experience
