The deadline to help steer Georgia’s course on education is noon today.

The federal government overhauled the No Child Left Behind Act, pushing more authority over education to the state level, and now Georgia is plotting its course.

The state Department of Education has held listening sessions across the state and is gathering input on a survey, with responses due by noon today.

The survey covers testing, teacher training, school scoring and other areas that used to be tightly controlled by federal policy but is now open to states to define. Click here to take the survey, which takes a few minutes.

You can find information about your school, such as test scores, graduation rates and school climate rating at the Ultimate Atlanta School Guide.
