The Atlanta Braves Foundation will help give grants to Cobb County public school educators who create innovative and creative ideas in the classroom.

The school district’s nonprofit foundation made the announcement Monday.

Last year, the nonprofit awarded 22 IMPACT Grants totaling $23,750 to Cobb school district educators.

The Braves paid more than $27,000 for the school district's back-to-school folder that was covered in team advertisements and distributed to 112,000 students on the first day of school. School district officials say it's a normal practice to sell advertising on the folder so that the cost doesn't come out of funds dedicated to classrooms.

The Braves played their final game at Atlanta's Turner Field on Sunday. The team is moving to SunTrust Park in Cobb in April.
