Q: Why do you run the Peachtree?

A: I love the music that plays as you pass every corner. I love the screaming crowds of support as you stride by every landmark. But most of all, I love that intense feeling of pride that I get as I finally finish and pick up my beloved shirt.

Q: Why did you start running?

A: I started in 2006 because I had always heard about the Peachtree as a high school cross country runner and finally wanted to experience it myself. I didn't know how the race was set up and got lost trying to find my number group. However, once I got over the shock of all the people, I felt empowered by the intense support from the crowd and the feelings that are running through your head as you run. It makes you feel great to know that you're running and supporting your country at the same time.

Q: How many Peachtrees?

A: Five.

Q: What do you like about the race?

A: The traditions and the shirt.

Q: Would you make any changes?

A: I'm still trying to get a number. I feel like that people who have been running it for years --  after 10 years you are automatically in -- well, I can't run it for 10 years if I'm not selected. I don't think it's really fair to people who really care about it.

Q: How much do you train?

A: During the summers I run a 3-6 miles a couple of days a week.

Q: Do you have a training partner?

A: Sometimes I run alone and sometimes I run with my sister or with my family.

Q: What is your favorite post-race tradition?

A: My church is Second Ponce de Leon Baptist, which is on the route. Sometimes I go back there and watch some of the runners as they finish.

Q: Favorite spot during the Peachtree?

A: I like it all the same. I enjoy all of it.
