Last chance for AJC Peachtree Road Race registration

By Staff reports

Online registration for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race has ended.

But no need to fret — 10,000 spots still remain for the July Fourth race.

The last Peachtree slots will be randomly selected from all the paper applications mailed and postmarked by March 31. All applications must include a check or money order for $33 and documentation of a qualifying time (if applicable).

The original application form is required for entry — that means no photocopying.

“The last 10,000 Peachtree entries have been determined through a lottery process for the past 15 years, and we are excited to continue this tradition for the 40th running of the AJC Peachtree Road Race,” Atlanta Track Club Executive Director Tracey Russell said in a news release.

A cashed check serves as confirmation that a participant has secured a spot. All other entries will remain unopened and be returned to sender through the Postal Service by mid-April.

And if you’re already registered, there’s still work to do. The ajc.com Reebok Running Shoe Contest is open at ajc.com/peachtree. Those who enter can vote — once a day — on one of five designs for the T-shirts given to those who finish the road race. The winner of the running shoe contest will receive a pair of special edition AJC Peachtree Road Race Reebok running shoes, while nine runners-up will receive premium running shoes. Both the contest and voting will continue through April 30.
