Police seek thieves who stole lottery tickets in McDonough
Cameras caught men cashing stolen tickets in Atlanta and Locust Grove
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Police are searching for people who are cashing stolen lottery tickets at stores throughout the metro Atlanta area.
Detectives say three men broke into the Marathon gas station at Ga. 42 and John Williams Parkway in McDonough on July 31. The burglars, who wore masks and gloves, took a “large amount” of lottery tickets and cigarettes, Henry County Police spokesman Capt. Jason Bolton said.
Since then, the lottery tickets have been cashed at stores throughout the area, including a gas station in Locust Grove and two stores in Atlanta, Bolton said Friday.
Surveillance cameras captured the men as they cashed in the tickets. Police are asking the public to help identify those people.
Detectives said they are unsure if the men who cashed in the tickets are responsible for the burglary, but said they may have information about the crime.
Anyone with information may call Henry County Det. Joe Norton at 770-288-8262.
