Henry schools superintendent to retire in December

Henry County Schools Superintendent Michael Surma will retire at the end of the year.

Surma, 59, has worked 15 years in administrative roles for Henry schools, serving as superintendent the last two years after replacing Jack Parish. Surma previously worked in Illinois.

Schools spokesman Tony Pickett said the school board has not announced plans for finding a new superintendent.
