Police say Saysanit, a Clayton County resident known as "Merc," knocked on the door of a Tye Street home Sunday morning and fired several shots as soon as the door was opened. Joseph Wells, 28, of Griffin, who was visiting and opened the door, was wounded in the neck. He was in critical condition at Grady Memorial Hospital.
Saysanit fled in a Ford Ranger, police said.
At least six people were inside the home at 7:30 a.m. when the shooting occurred, and two were arrested on drug charges. Police are investigating whether the shooting was drug-related.
