Two injured in Gwinnett mall stabbings
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
A double stabbing near the food court at Gwinnett Place Friday morning added to the chaos of the busiest shopping day of the year, as dozens of police officers descended on the mall in search of the perpetrators.
"The police department responded in large numbers due to the high volume of holiday shoppers," said Gwinnett police spokesman Jacob Smith.
The two victims, both men, sustained non-life threatening injuries and were transported to a local hospital. Officers arrived around 11:30 a.m. but could not locate the four men suspected in the attacks.
"The search was called off when it was conclusively determined that the four suspects had fled the scene," Smith said. They remain at large.
Smith said the stabbings appeared to be a gang-related.
