A 22-year-old Suwanee man fended off a pair of would-be robbers who tried to force entry to his apartment on Sunday.

The resident told police someone knocked on his door around 8 p.m. at Amli Apartments off McGinnis Ferry Road. After he opened the door, an unidentified man carrying a pistol tried to push his way inside while an accomplice armed with a large screwdriver stood watch, according to a Suwanee Police incident report. The resident struggled with the gunman, pushed him out into the breezeway and shut the door. During the scuffle, the intruder struck the resident in the head with the pistol, causing a minor cut.

The two men were seen leaving in a red minivan with a Fulton County tag, the police report stated. The intruder was described as a slender black male between 20 and 25 years old, between 5 foot 10 inches and six feet tall, with a dark complexion. His accomplice was described as a light-skinned black male or Hispanic male between 20 and 22 years old, about 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt.
