Suspected jewelry thieves seriously injured during getaway

Two men suspected of robbing a Mall of Georgia jewelry store early Monday afternoon were seriously injured as they fled on I-85 southbound.
A Gwinnett County Police officer spotted the suspects' vehicle speeding by before the driver spun out and smacked the car into a median wall. The driver regained control and exited onto Lawrenceville Suwanee Road, where he lost control a second time, colliding with a tractor trailer, Gwinnett County Police spokesman David Schiralli said.
As officers attended to the injured men, they found a duffel bag containing items lifted from the Mall of Georgia jeweler, Schiralli said.
