The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

A Gwinnett County jury found a Stone Mountain man guilty of murder Thursday in a drug-related shooting that left one man dead and another man seriously wounded.

Malcolm Taurean Johnson, 20, was convicted on charges of murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. He was sentenced to life plus 25 years in prison.

Johnson had been accused of killing Dedric Daquan Thomason, 28, and injuring 29-year-old Roscoe Gordon on Jan. 30, 2008 in the parking lot of an apartment complex in Stone Mountain. The two victims were from South Carolina.

Police said Johnson was trying to purchase marijuana from the victims at the time of the shooting.
