A mentally disabled man who wandered away from a family gathering in Gwinnett County Thursday evening has been found more than 25 miles away, said police.

Douglasville police were notified by a passerby who had encountered Jason Lee Bowling. He had apparently walked the entire way from Gwinnett County.

Bowling, 47, walked away from a relative’s home on Nouveau Court near Lilburn around 6:30 p.m. Family members feared Bowling, who is not familiar with the area and has a history of seizures, may have attempted to walk home to Carroll County.

Douglasville officers responded to find Bowling in good health and spirits. They transported him to their headquarters to await family members.
