The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration has cited Marietta-based WLC Masonry Inc. with 13 serious safety violations after an investigation found workers were exposed to fall and scaffolding hazards at a work site on Lawrenceville Highway in Lilburn.

Among other violations, an investigator found a lack of fall protection for workers more than 35 feet above the ground. A serious violation occurs when there is substantial probability that death or serious injury could result from a hazard the employer knew about or should have known about. The agency has proposed penalties totaling $51,300.
