A motorcyclist was killed Tuesday night in a two-vehicle wreck near Buford, police said.

Gwinnett County police Cpl. David Schiralli said the driver of a 1999 Mercedes ML320 was eastbound on Bluffton Road about 7:30 p.m. when she attempted to turn left onto White Bluff Way.

The Mercedes driver "unintentionally entered the path of an off-road motorcycle that was traveling illegally on the roadway in the opposite direction," Schiralli said.

The motorcycle struck the Mercedes, ejecting Christopher Kiley, 23, of Buford. Kiley, who was not wearing a helmet, was taken to Gwinnett Medical Center, where he died.

Schiralli said no charges are anticipated against the Mercedes driver.

"The motorcycle did not have a headlight and due to the dark conditions, the Mercedes driver was unable to see the motorcycle before she turned," he said.
