Man jailed on animal cruelty charges
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
A Loganville man was arrested Monday after deputies found three dogs living in deplorable conditions in outdoor kennels behind his home.
Gwinnett County Sheriff's deputies came upon the animals when they went to evict the renter from a home on Langley Creek Drive. They were living in a muddy, feces-covered kennel, said Stacey Bourbonnais, a spokeswoman for the Sheriff's department.
A Rottweiler and a pit bull were so emaciated that their bones showed through their skin. The third dog, another pit bull, didn't appear to be malnourished, but it was living in the same filthy conditions.
The dogs' owner, 39-year-old Derrick Wright, was arrested on three counts of animal cruelty. He was released the same day on $405 bond.
