Lilburn rail crossing closed for upgrades
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
The Main Street railroad crossing in Lilburn will be closed from Tuesday to Friday for improvements.
The city of Lilburn and CSX Transportation are partnering to install about 40 feet of concrete upgrades. The improvements will smooth out the railroad crossing and repair asphalt erosion, city officials said.
Up to 7,500 cars travel that area per day.
The city is funding the $14,000 cost of materials, and CSX is covering labor costs.
Local traffic will be detoured during construction. The crossing will reopen Saturday.
