Gwinnett Schools win national healthy lifestyles grant

Two Gwinnett County public schools have received a national grant to promote healthy lifestyles.

Centerville Elementary in Snellville and Sweetwater Middle in Lawrenceville have each been awarded a $1,000 grant from the National Parent and Teacher Association.

Gwinnett County Schools officials said Centerville will use part of its grant to purchase basketball equipment for the physical education department.

Sweetwater Middle used its grant to help provide medical screenings at a community health fair.

The schools were chosen from among 250  in 43 states.
