An Apalachee High School teacher and coach is on administrative leave after Gwinnett County police arrested him during an undercover prostitution sting last week, the Athens Banner-Herald has reported.

Tom Wallace, who serves as an assistant football and wrestling coach, was arrested late Feb. 17 after allegedly arranging to meet an undercover officer posing online as a prostitute for sex in a Duluth hotel, the Banner-Herald said.

Gwinnett County police arrested Wallace when he arrived at the hotel. He was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail shortly after midnight. He was charged with one count of pandering, according to a Gwinnett County police report.

He was released on $1,300 bond the morning after, jail records said.

Wallace has coached high school football for 15 years, but this is his first year at Apalachee, the Banner-Herald said, citing a biography posted on the athletic program’s website.
