Decatur woman in jail for string of armed robberies
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
A Decatur woman is in jail for her alleged role in a string of armed robberies on Hispanic residents in Gwinnett County.
Tiffany Denise Soloman, 20, was arrested Tuesday and faces nine counts of armed robbery for her involvement in a series of robberies that started in August, police said. She remained in jail without bond on Friday, Gwinnett County jail records show.
Police have tagged Soloman as the getaway driver in the robberies, ferrying away the other culprits and their goods in a black Nissan Maxima.
The month-long robbery spree began on Aug. 19. Two weeks later, on Sept. 2, the thieves hit up the Colonial Park Apartments on East National Circle.
According to a police report, a black car pulled into the apartment parking lot, and two men got out and walked up to a group of four other men. One pointed a gun, while the other rummaged through the men's pockets.
One of the men tried to grab the gun from one of the assailants, but the other one then grabbed the man and ripped his shirt.
The robberies took less than a minute, the police report said. The pair got back in the car, and the driver pulled away.
Police said they were able to watch the robbery later on a surveillance video.
The investigation is ongoing, police said Friday.
